For Merchants

Affiliate Dashboard

On the Affiliates page in your Tentary account, you can see if your affiliate program is currently active. You will also find an overview of the total earned and current month's earned commissions of your partners there.

At the bottom of the dashboard, you will see all current partners including their status. The status indicates whether you have approved the partner for your program or not.

Set up the Affiliate Program

Before partners can sign up for your affiliate program, you need to configure and activate it. To do this, visit the following page:

Tentary > Affiliates > Settings

Then select the relevant settings for you:

  • Status: Determine whether your affiliate program is currently active or inactive. The "active and public" status ensures that your program will also be automatically included if there is a public marketplace for all affiliate programs in the future.
  • Automatic Approval of New Partners: Decide if you want to manually approve each new partner, or if new partners will be approved automatically
  • Commission: Set the amount and type (percentage or absolute) for your commission for referrals
  • Partners Can Promote: By default, partners can promote all your products, or you can select individual products.
  • Information for Your Partners
  • Payout Settings: Inform your partners through this setting how you pay out commissions and what data they need to provide.

Save your changes, and your affiliate program will be set up.

Invite Affiliates

Once you have set up and activated your affiliate program, you will find your unique invitation link in your affiliate dashboard. With this link, people can sign up for your affiliate program.

You can read more about how the registration works in the "Become a Partner" section below.

Manage Affiliates and Commissions

Affiliates

In your Affiliate Dashboard, you can see an overview of all your current partners. The status indicates whether the respective partner is approved for your program or not. To change the status, click on the name of the affiliate and then on the desired status.

Commissions

On the "Sales" subpage, you will find an overview of all individual sales that have resulted in commissions. You can see the time when a commission was earned, open the underlying order, and adjust the status of the commission.

The following status messages are possible:

  • Accepted: The default status, indicating that the commission is valid
  • In Review: If you want to review the order first and the commission should not be paid out immediately
  • Rejected: The commission should not be paid out
  • Paid: The commission has been marked as paid by you as part of a payout
  • Invalid: The underlying order has been canceled

Payouts

On the "Payouts" subpage, you can manage the payouts of your commissions.

You can withdraw commissions at any time and set individual conditions on the affiliate settings page (in the field: Info for your partners).

We recommend waiting at least 30 days after the original sale to process payouts. This basic rule should reduce the number of paid commissions that may become invalid due to a refund or chargeback.

If you want to mark commissions as paid, select the commissions you want to pay out and click on “Confirm payout”. An invoice will be automatically sent to the partner on your behalf with a summary of the relevant commissions as a PDF. You can then initiate the payout via bank transfer or PayPal. The partner's payment details will be displayed to you.

Who is responsible for paying your partners?

You are responsible for the actual payout of your commissions. Even if you have connected Stripe and PayPal with Tentary to sell your products, we do not have access to your funds. We track commissions, generate invoices, and provide additional tools to make setting up your own affiliate program as easy as possible.

For Affiliates

Become a Partner

To join an affiliate program, you first need an invitation link. Once you have this link, open it and you will either be directed to a page to join the affiliate program (if you already have a Tentary account) or you may need to create a free Tentary account first.

If you have created a new account, you may need to click on the link again to be redirected to the joining page. A new account can only join an affiliate program once a billing address has been provided.

After joining the program, you will either be automatically approved or you may need to wait a bit until the merchant manually confirms your membership.

Dashboard

In your Dashboard you can see an overview of your earned commissions for the current month and overall. Additionally, you will see all the affiliate programs that you have joined.

Recommend Products

Once you have joined at least one affiliate program, you can find a list of all the products you can promote on the products page, including the respective commission you would receive.

You can filter the list by affiliate programs and preview the products. To promote a product, use one of the two links displayed: product link or checkout link.

The product link will first direct a visitor to the page with the product description. The checkout link will directly lead a visitor to the product's payment page.

The links contain your affiliate tag and can be used for recommendations. Each URL ends with your affiliate ID (?aref=ABC), which must not be removed. After the first visit to such a link, a cookie is stored in the user's browser for 30 days, and all purchases of eligible products will be attributed to you.

Successful Referrals and Commissions

On the Sales Page, you will find an overview of all commissions generated by clicks on your affiliate links. You can see the amount of each commission, the time when a commission was earned, and the status of the commission.

The following status messages are possible:

  • Accepted: The commission is valid and will be paid out
  • Under Review: The merchant is reviewing the commission, and it will not be paid out for the time being
  • Rejected: The commission will not be paid out
  • Paid: The commission has already been paid out
  • Invalid: The underlying order has been canceled

Payouts

On the Payouts page, you can see an overview of the already paid out commissions and download the corresponding credit note.

Furthermore, on this page, you can enter your bank details and your PayPal account for the payout. You can check in the dashboard for each affiliate program with which payment method the payout is made. Without the respective data, no commissions can be paid out.
