Subscription
In comparison to a one-off payment, a subscription results in a recurring payment. The frequency of this payment depends on the payment interval.
Create a subscription
To create a subscription, first log in to your Tentary account and go to the product overview. When you create or edit a product, you can select the option Subscription in the Price section. Apart from the direct link, you can sell any product type in form of a subscription.
If you have selected the Subscription option, you can set the price underneath. Enter the chosen amount of the recurring payment. On the right, you can set the payment interval. There are various possibilities here (monthly, every 2nd month, quarterly, semi-annually and annually).
Directly below there is a checkbox to specify whether you accept SEPA payments and, if this is the case, a second checkbox will appear and you can decide whether you want the product to be delivered immediately after purchase or by default after reception of payment.
Payment options for a subscription
For a subscription, there are fewer payment options than usual. Your customers can currently pay by credit card, GooglePay, ApplePay and, if activated, SEPA.
Cancelling a subscription
There are 3 different ways to cancel a subscription:
1. As a seller, you can cancel the subscription in your dashboard via the menu item Sales.
2. Your customers can click on the Cancel subscription link at the bottom in the footer both in your shop and on the product's sales page. Please note, however, that this option must be activated in your shop settings.
3. Your customers can open the link to the product in the purchase confirmation of the subscription. A cancellation link is also displayed in the product itself when opening it.
Frequently asked questions and answers
What happens if a recurring payment has failed?
A subscription payment that has failed can also be settled by your customers via PayPal. However, this only regards the current outstanding debt, as PayPal does not handle subscription payments.
Your customers will receive a notification if a subscription payment has failed. This message contains a link to add a new payment method and the option to pay the amount via PayPal.
