Email marketing with Tentary

Email marketing is one of the most important ways to stay in touch with customers easily and effectively. You can use email to upsell additional products to existing customers, share information about new releases, or start your own newsletter.

With Tentary, you get access to all of our email marketing features for free. There is no need for additional tools or platforms.

Setup, subscribers, privacy

You can send one-off messages to your customers in the form of campaigns or multiple automated emails in the form of automations.

Setup

#1 First, complete the setup of your Tentary account.

#2 Next, in the settings, define how users can subscribe to your emails. Either every buyer of your products will be automatically subscribed to your emails, or a checkbox will have to be checked to confirm the subscription before the purchase. If you want to display a checkbox, you can define the text for the confirmation.

#3 Finally, enable the "Subscribe buyers to my marketing emails" setting for each product that allows buyers to sign up for your emails.

#4 Alternatively, users can sign up for your emails via your shop. To do this, activate the option "Display subscription form on the shop page" here.

Email Subscribers

Before you can send emails, you need confirmed email subscribers. These are users who have signed up to receive your marketing emails and confirmed their subscription (double opt-in).

Regardless of whether you have enabled automatic subscription in your email settings, each new subscriber will first receive an email with a link to confirm their email subscription. Only after clicking the link is the user considered a confirmed/active subscriber and can receive emails from you.

Confirmed subscribers are marked with "Opt-in" on the customer page.

Privacy (GDPR)

Tentary allows you to send emails in compliance with data protection regulations. However, since there are different regulations for email around the world, individual settings can be customized for each account.

For example, in Australia, the EU, the UK and Canada, many experts believe that you should display the email subscription consent checkbox in the checkout process.

We have defined two basic settings for all accounts. First, each new email subscriber must accept their subscription once by clicking on a confirmation link (double opt-in) and proof of opt-in is stored. Second, an unsubscribe link is automatically inserted at the bottom of every email. These two features are mandatory in most countries around the world and are standard practice in email marketing.

Email Campaigns

You can use email campaigns to send one-time messages to your email subscribers.

Email campaigns give you the flexibility to decide when and what to send to your subscribers. For example, you can share information about new product releases, send a periodic newsletter, or send other messages to stay in touch with your subscribers.

To create a campaign, go to the Marketing page in your Tentary account and click the New Campaign button.

Email Automations

With Email Automations, you are able to send multiple emails automatically at different times to certain buyers or groups of buyers.

To create an automation, go to the "Emails" page in your Tentary account and then click on the "New Automation" button.
